This just might be helpful when thinking about the effectiveness of using procedures and routines.
The following site provides a short article with questions that a teacher should ask themselves, and their students, in determining whether the procedures/routines are effective in their classroom.

Karianne,
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a C.A.S.E. teacher. A C.A.S.E. teacher is one who collects and shares everything. These are wonderful websites with excellent information. Also Dr. Eisenhauer and I appreciate how you used initiative to be the first to post on the blog. This is exactly how we are hoping to use the blog.
Thanks, Karianne! I wonder if anyone in our Linking Learning community has a system or procedure for storing useful links and information? Please share your organizational tips!
ReplyDeleteI have a file on my computer that I copy information to or the URL's of helpful links. I can honestly say I have not referred back to any of them yet from the first time I have looked at them, but I know they are there if I need something.

I originally kept valuable websites on my internets bookmarks or printed information out. Both proved frustrating. After my laptop broke unexpectedly my bookmarks were gone. All information I had printed out became troublesome as I began taking my own steps in helping the environment.
ReplyDeleteI currently have a small 8"5" spiral notebook. When I find a resourceful website I write it in the notebook under its corresponding category (i.e. art, science, safety, lesson plans: planets/universe, etc.)with a brief description of what the site offers. I also keep note of good books for the classroom along with their authors in this notebook.
